Thanks to generous funding from Georgia Council on Developmental Disabilities, REV UP Georgia partnered with Crimminz & Associates to present and record a five-part webinar series: Power the Disability Vote. Below is information from each of these webinars, to support Community Connectors as you educate friends and neighbors on voting in Georgia.

On the November ballot, Georgians voted on statewide races, referendums, the U.S. House of Representatives, state legislators, and other regional and local offices. There is now a runoff election December 6 for Georgia’s Senate seat.

Voting Is a Right! Access to the Polls Is Part of that Right!
We provide a link below to a one-pager on Welcoming Voters with Disabilities for Poll Workers. Every County Elections Office should have this so that they will understand the different ways of providing accessible voting for everyone.

Welcoming Voters with Disabilities for Poll Workers
"The voting system shall be accessible for individuals with disabilities, including nonvisual accessibility for the blind and visually impaired, in a manner that provides the same opportunity for access and participation (including privacy and independence) as for other voters." - Help America Vote Act Section 301(a)(3)(a)
At the polls, what happens if things aren’t what they should be? READ ON FOR GUIDANCE.
When things go wrong at the polls, often it’s because election workers don’t know what they should know. Advocate effectively for yourself and others by knowing and sharing:
If you are 75 years old or have a disability, you do not have to wait in line if you vote between 9:30 am and 4:30 pm; you can tell a poll worker that you want to move to the front of the line and they will assist you.
If there are long line or extended waits, hang in there!
If the polls are about to close – stay in line! You have the right to vote if you are in line before closing time. Encourage others to stay in line.
If you have accessibility problems or feel that you are being intimidated, call one of the non-partisan hotline numbers below immediately. You can remain anonymous if you wish. Problems can’t be solved if people don’t call.
